Why Have a Doula?

Evidence shows that continuous one-on-one support during labor is associated with improved outcomes such as shorted labor, need for less pain medication, a decrease in operative births, increased feelings of satisfaction with labor & delivery, and improved rate of spontaneous vaginal births.

What is a Doula?

A doula is a trained professional who provides educational, and emotional guidance in preparation for the birth, as well as continuous informational, emotional and physical support during labor and delivery. As your doula my goal will be to understand what’s important to you regarding your pregnancy, labor and delivery and work collaboratively with you and the rest of your support team to help ensure your experience is empowering, and authentic.

  • Education, review and practice of labor positions
